Content Creators are like Singers. Think Like One to Succeed
We have to differentiate, stand out, be creative and unique in our work.
How different are we from singers?
No much difference actually.
We create content, fight for distribution channels, and contest for attention. We do the same things to earn our keep.
This is especially so as livestreamers.
Do you agree?
We can, therefore, learn from the singers we see.
Why We Should Learn from the Singers
I say should, because it is practical to do so. It is one I have adopted. I have 4 reasons for doing so.
Content format — Unlike other content formats (posts, images, reels, stories), livestreaming requires personal exposure on-air. We need time to develop the courage showcasing our authentic selves to the outside world. We can appear as guests in other livestream programs to beef up our confidence and get used to it.
Developing focus on ourselves — I would prefer to focus on my message, delivery, and how to be entertaining. I do not want to spend time worrying about microphones, topic flow, social media distribution.
Delivery preparation over livestream preparation — I prefer to spend the week preparing and bringing my best self to the livestream. I need not worry about getting guests to appear on the right day, time, and time zone. I just appear on livestream day to get my job done.
Zero cost incurred — Since you own nothing, then you pay nothing.
Understand one thing. Singers win fans without spending a dime to acquire the stage of the microphone. We can think the same. Read more here.
Our YouTube Channel – Knowledge Topics
On our Youtube Channel, we produce content to uncover topics that permeate all walks of life. Our community can understand what it means to be in the trenches of our interest.
Here are some topics of interest we recorded with high viewership:
Why we buy what we buy.
Marketing on a Dime.
Green Technology.
Robotic Era.
Mental Health.
Our goal is to share our research with our community from a practitioner's standpoint.
Summary
We need to differentiate.
We don’t have to crack our heads just to figure out what that means. We have a blueprint right in front of us. We can learn from singers.
The job of Bottomsup Perspective is to research, discuss, and share our findings so our community can grow with us.
This topic is one example of sharing our practitionership.
