Everyone says we have to be on social media because that is where the attention is, right?
No! Dead wrong!
At Bottomsup Perspective, we do not believe in chasing attention for the sake of it. It does not make sense!
You might be scratching your head because everyone told you the golden rule of success on social media, and we are telling you the reverse!
Think about the following examples illustrating just how bad the above idea is:
The guy running naked on the streets.
2 groups of people fighting because of accusatory stares.
Cutting queues.
Snatching products off the shelves.
Screaming in the shopping mall with no rhyme or reason.
I guarantee you if you do the above, you will get a lot of attention and social media fame. Overnight success!
But, what is wrong with the above even though you get what you seek?
It yields nothing positive.
Simply put, nothing good comes out of it.
Now, look at all the social media content. Influencers and influencer-wannabes are dying to tell you how great they are, what we should do, how we should lead our lives just to grab a like, a comment from you.
Is that a good idea or a bad one?
Content, Repurposed
Attention is one of the things we seek, and content is one out of many ways we can get it.
Attention, however, is not the ultimate goal. Think about a well-polished website optimized for the best Search Engine results and with incredible value.
Every website owner aims to achieve something with their website.
These are some simple examples:
Sell and resell a product.
Secure a service contract.
Hosting an online course for subscription-based selling.
Attention brings our work in front of people. The key is our work. It has nothing to do with chasing attention for the sake of it.
Food for thought, people.
Content, Repurposed Part 2
The purpose of content is to share what you believe in and how your product and services can solve the problems identified.
Content, from this angle, is about explaining the following:
Why this problem is a genuine problem.
You have this problem too.
I have a solution to this problem that you are facing.
My products and services solve your problem in this way and that.
And this happens to be the standard content copywriting format, free to you from Bottomsup Perspective.
Writing compelling content is not the only way to get customers and prospects to understand what we do, what we are about, and how we work to solve problems.
We can educate.
Online courses serve this purpose. The process of customer conversion happens during the online education process. If you are a blogger, teach how to blog. People will keep coming back for more, knowing that you have a lot more to offer.
