Time is Everything. Therefore, We Hustle (Now)

It is (kinda) scary that our most treasured asset comes with an end-date.

If Time is an asset, it has to be the scariest one.

For one, it comes with an expiry date.

Next, no amount of money we have allows us to buy more time, or buy time back.

Lastly, we can only squander it. There is no way we can produce an iota of it.

And therefore how we think of time and interact with it, determines the quality of our lives. There is no other way.

Would you choose to enjoy the best in life, or to make every second count by hustling your way through to achieve the goals in your mind?

That choice, ultimately, is yours.

How We Think of Time Affects Our Productivity

Highly effective people think simply.

Therefore, they are always in the zone. These people understand one Truth. The world of endless optionality is a Universe of Non-stop Distractions. Bring MJ and Gwen Stacy in front of Good Ole’ Spidey, and he forgets to reload his web gun.

Imagine that.

Of course, superheroes are vulnerable. That is different from being ineffective. Their crazy, highly uncertain lives do not rock that bastion of self-confidence to eventually overcome all hurdles in front of them.

Now, that is worthy of examination.

“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.”

— Paul J. Meyer

Productivity is a function of focus, commitment, and self-confidence. These 3 pillars anchor us to our goals-oriented pursuits in the office and at home, where we hide behind our laptops, working quietly to dominate the digital world.

I would go as far as to say that productivity is a result of our ability to commit to excellence, to focus without distraction, and to work even when we do not want to. And then, it begets the following questions.

How do we become productive?

How do we stay in our zone from our office afternoons and into the side-hustle evenings?

Everyone manages it their own way.

My suggestions are genuinely simple.

First, figure out the longest duration you can focus on the task at hand.

Next, clear off all distractions so you minimize attention disruption.

Last, go all-in to get your work done, or as close to completion as possible.

Rinse. Wash. Repeat.

You will be amazed by the amount of work completed, and the speed at which you achieve your goals.

All it requires… is focus.

Focus drives productivity.

Nothing else matters quite as much.

Summary

How we think matters.

The value of Time is not discovered through thinking.

It is discovered through execution, and through working on our side-hustles, businesses, projects, ventures that matter deeply to us.

When we get into the zone, we enter into a World of Infinite Possibilities. In that World, we are invincible.

The job of Bottomsup Perspective is to research, discuss, and share our findings so our community can grow with us.

This topic is one example of sharing our practitionership.

Do you believe in what we do?

If you do, push this big purple button.
